Chemical Consent
Survivors of psychedelic sexual abuse unite to take on a multibillion-dollar industry determined to silence them. As they fight for accountability and justice, they begin building safer plant medicine communities rooted in healing, care, and change.
SYNOPSIS
Chemical Consent is the first documentary to follow four survivors of sexual abuse during psychedelic healing sessions. As they confront an industry that has threatened, shunned, and isolated them, they are creating safer communities and new ways of working with psychedelics built on care, consent, and accountability.
From their intimate narratives, we explore the difficult questions: What are the conditions giving rise to widespread sexual abuse in these psychedelic communities? Why aren’t the industry leaders talking about it? Are patients fully informed about the potential effects of these treatments? Are the advertised success stories accurate, or have they been distorted and inflated to fast-track legalization?
